- Hi,
-
- I have NewIcons installed on my system, and very nice they are too.
- However, a lot of PD software comes with MWB icons, and MUI3.2
- looks nice with MWB colours. I thought a simple solution would be
- to use a 16 colour screen instead of 8 colours, and to allocate
- a palette which would make both icon sets look nice. The trouble
- is WB preferences only saves an 8 colour palette.
-
- I have tried using WCC (workbench colour changer) which allows you
- to set palettes of >8 colours. But even though I run WCC in my
- user-startup before the WB is opened, the new palette doesn't manifest
- itself until later, meaning that my desktop icons and backdrop picture
- are screwed (although icons in newly opened windows look fine).
-
- Recently a program called forcepens was uploaded to Aminet. This program
- changes the palette before the WB is opened, but unfortunately only allows
- you to specify 4 colours to be changed.
-
- Can anybody recommend a work-around? Note that I realise MWB icons can
- be converted to NewIcons - this is not my problem. I simply want to be
- able to set a 16 colour palette before the WB is opened...

- J.
